Our client, a growing mortgage investment and lending firm, is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to join their Originations team. This role is best suited for someone who excels in a performance-based environment and enjoys driving deal flow through proactive relationship building and business development. The successful candidate will focus on sourcing, structuring, and managing mortgage transactions from initial contact through to funding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and originate new mortgage opportunities through direct outreach, networking, and referral channels.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of commercial and high-value residential mortgage clients.
  • Conduct in-person meetings with borrowers, brokers, and referral partners across the GTA to develop and strengthen relationships.
  • Assess client needs and structure financing solutions that align with underwriting and investor criteria.
  • Partner closely with credit and underwriting teams to prepare and submit complete loan applications.
  • Negotiate deal terms, manage timelines, and maintain ongoing communication throughout the transaction process.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and ongoing referrals.
  • Track origination activity, deal progress, and performance metrics through CRM and reporting systems.
  • Represent the firm professionally at networking events, industry conferences, and client presentations.
  • Stay informed on market trends, lending products, and regulatory changes impacting the mortgage sector.

Qualifications:

  • Mortgage Agent Level 2 License, or Level 1 License held for at least 12 months (required).
  • Demonstrated success in sales, business development, or deal origination within the mortgage or private lending industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and high-value residential lending practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills — confident in presenting and building relationships in person.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle (required for client meetings across the GTA).
  • Based within the Greater Toronto Area, with flexibility to travel for meetings and networking engagements.
  • Entrepreneurial, target-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking skills across multiple active deals.

If you’re a driven professional looking to grow your origination career with a high-performing mortgage platform, we encourage you to apply today. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
