GL Systems Consultant

Columbus, Ohio (Hybrid Preferred/Remote Feasible)

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Systems Expert to lead technology and process integration efforts across multiple financial systems. This role will serve as a critical liaison between Finance and IT, ensuring cohesive execution, process alignment, and efficient resource utilization within a complex banking environment.

This position requires a strong understanding of finance systems and the ability to translate business needs into actionable technology solutions. The ideal candidate will bring structure and coordination to an environment where multiple teams have created “shadow IMOs,” ensuring consistent delivery standards and clear communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee implementation, integration, and enhancement of finance systems such as General Ledger (GEO), Trial Balance, Fixed Assets, and Chart of Accounts.
  • Act as the bridge between Finance and IT, translating business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Drive capacity planning, resource planning, and testing coordination for all finance-related technology initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to document and optimize business processes (to be provided by the Finance team).
  • Ensure proper project governance and reporting in alignment with enterprise PMO standards.
  • Coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups and navigate complex interpersonal dynamics to maintain alignment and transparency.
  • Provide leadership and direction in environments with competing priorities and limited structure.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience managing IT or Finance transformation projects within banking or financial services.
  • Proven track record with finance systems implementation or integration (GEO, Trial Balance, Fixed Assets, CoA).
  • Strong background in finance processes, testing, and data validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage matrixed teams and work across adversarial or siloed groups.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience navigating sensitive internal dynamics.
