We’re working with a well-established, fast-growing business in the insurance and financial services sector to find a talented Data Planner & Customer Insight. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves turning complex data into clear, actionable strategies that shape customer engagement and marketing performance.

As the Data Planner & Customer Insight, you’ll play a key role in helping the marketing function understand and act on customer behaviour.

You’ll analyse trends, map customer journeys, and guide test-and-learn initiatives that improve acquisition, retention, and loyalty.

This role sits at the intersection of data, marketing, and strategy – ideal for someone who is technically savvy in understanding how different segmentations and cluster models work, but also who is commercially adept, enjoys influencing decision-making and driving measurable results through insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer segmentation models and performance scorecards covering engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Develop behavioural journey maps to identify pain points and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Lead test-and-learn programmes, ensuring experiments are designed with clear hypotheses and measurable outcomes.
  • Deliver meaningful insights and strategic recommendations to improve CRM, campaign, and proposition performance.
  • Partner with CRM, data engineering, and automation teams to ensure systems are aligned for accurate targeting and reporting.
  • Present complex analytical findings in a clear, concise way for marketing and senior leadership audiences.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience in customer insight, marketing analytics, or data planning.
  • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, lifetime value, and churn metrics.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualisation tools; knowledge of Python or R is an advantage (ability to interpret complex modelling work)
  • Hands-on experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms (Salesforce, Adobe, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to turn data into actionable recommendations.
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for using data to enhance marketing impact.

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine technical, analytical skills with strategic influence – helping a leading brand connect more effectively with its customers – we’d love to hear from you.
