About the Role
As a Design Systems Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and interaction language that defines the experience across platforms. You’ll help build and evolve our design system—ensuring consistency, scalability, and craft across console, PC, mobile, and web environments. This role blends systems thinking, creativity, and precision, requiring someone who thrives at the intersection of UX, UI, and visual design.
You’ll collaborate closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and creative leadership to define patterns, components, and frameworks that empower teams to create cohesive, accessible, and high-quality user experiences. This is a unique opportunity to influence design culture at a global scale, working on experiences that touch millions of players. Success in this role means delivering elegant, systemized solutions that balance creativity with technical feasibility—helping push the boundaries of design excellence in entertainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, document, and evolve a unified Design System, pattern libraries, and component frameworks for Xbox digital experiences.
- Design innovative, world-class interactive experiences across console, web, mobile, and 10-foot (lean-back) environments.
- Collaborate with UX, UI, and engineering teams to ensure design consistency and implementation quality.
- Deliver end-to-end design—from wireframes and prototypes to polished visual and motion specifications.
- Contribute to layout, composition, and information architecture that guides high-impact user experiences.
- Participate in design reviews, provide and receive feedback constructively, and uphold Xbox’s design standards.
- Work closely with design leadership and stakeholders to translate product goals into scalable design systems and assets.
Must Have
- 1–2 years of experience in experience design, UI/UX, or interactive media within a professional design environment.
- Proven experience creating or maintaining design systems and pattern libraries.
- Strong command of responsive design across web, app, and 10-foot experiences.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud for design, prototyping, and documentation.
- Demonstrated skills in information architecture, wireframing, redlining, and UX documentation.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and feedback integration skills.
- Knowledge of front-end development principles and best practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience in large-scale or AAA digital media environments.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Understanding of motion design, micro-interactions, or prototyping tools like Principle or After Effects.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams on component development and implementation.
- Passion for gaming, entertainment, and the Xbox brand.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in UX Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or related field.
