Job Description
Position Summary
The Solution Engineer will partner with sales, product, technical, and operations teams to bring to life compelling, technically rigorous solutions in the pre‑sales cycle. The role focuses on the technical execution of proposed solutions, including configuration, proof‑of‑concepts (POCs), demos, integration feasibility, and validation that the proposed architecture meets client needs. This role is less strategic than a Solution Architect and more hands‑on in terms of technical enablement, product/solution demonstration, and sales support.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Collaboration
• Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architects, and Product Owners to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical designs, configurations, and demonstrations.
• Lead detailed discovery sessions with clients to map current environments, data flows, and integration points.
• Build and deliver product demos, prototypes, or POCs to illustrate the solution’s viability.
• Work with IT/R&D teams to align custom or configurable components with client requirements.
• Assist with technical responses to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring technical accuracy of pre‑sales deliverables.
Integration, Feasibility & Technical Validation
• Define technical architecture, data flows, and system integration interfaces.
• Assess risks, dependencies, and scalability considerations, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Ensure proposed solutions conform to technology standards and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with product and capability teams to ensure seamless hand‑over to delivery.
Collaboration & Sales Support
• Serve as the technical lead in opportunity teams, working closely with Sales and SMEs.
• Provide input into commercial discussions from a technical perspective.
• Support the creation of technical sections of proposals, architecture diagrams, and value‑based justification.
Continuous Improvement & Technical Leadership
• Stay current with emerging technologies, automation platforms, and contact‑centre/back‑office technologies.
• Provide feedback into the product roadmap and internal enablement programs.
• Participate in internal reviews to improve pre‑sales technical enablement processes.
Skills & Behavioural Profile
• Strong communicator with the ability to articulate technical designs in business terms.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Adaptable, collaborative, and proactive with a growth mindset.
• Creative in designing and enabling innovative solutions.
• Willingness to travel nationally (and occasionally internationally).
Qualifications and Experience:
• 3‑7 years of experience in technical pre‑sales, solution engineering, or similar roles.
• Hands‑on experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Familiarity with systems integration, automation, and BPO/contact‑centre technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical designs and support sales/delivery hand‑off.
