Maison Pause is a Pilates, yoga, and wellness studio located in Old Montreal that blends movement, recovery, and community. The studio offers Reformer and mat Pilates, yoga and wellness classes, and a recovery space featuring infrared and red-light therapy sauna. Guests can also enjoy a curated boutique and a matcha and coffee bar. Maison Pause is more than a studio, it is a welcoming space designed to help individuals recharge, connect, and take a moment for themselves.
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role, located in Old Montreal, QC, for aΒ Studio Host (Receptionist). This position is the heart of the studio experience and the first point of contact for all guests.
Most shifts take place duringΒ weekday evenings and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with flexibility required to cover additional shifts when needed.
Primary responsibilities include welcoming and checking in clients for classes and recovery appointments, preparing matcha and coffee drinks, maintaining a clean and beautiful studio environment, handling boutique sales, assisting with private events, and supporting daily studio operations. You will play a key role in creating the calm, elevated, and welcoming atmosphere Maison Pause is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and check in guests for:
- Pilates and yoga classes
- Recovery room appointments (infrared sauna & cold plunge)
Maintain studio cleanliness and presentation at all times, including:
- Bathrooms
- Floors (vacuuming and mopping)
- Reception and common areas
- Recovery room and wellness spaces
Prepare and serve:
- Matcha drinks
- Coffee and lattes
Manage boutique and retail sales:
- Merchandise, grip socks, wellness items, gift cards
Actively promote and sell:
- Memberships
- Class packs
- Recovery packages
Assist with private events such as:
- Birthdays
- Bachelorette parties
- Corporate or influencer bookings
Host guests during events and ensure a smooth, elevated experience
Support the Studio Owner with day-to-day operations:
- Ordering supplies
- Organizing inventory
- Assisting with scheduling, events, and studio logistics
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills to create a welcoming, professional environment
- Experience in client support, with the ability to guide new clients through registration, bookings, and studio policies
- Basic food & beverage handling skills for the matcha and coffee bar
- Comfortable with sales, including retail, memberships, and class packages
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Able to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced boutique studio
- Passion for wellness, Pilates, yoga, fitness, or hospitality is highly valued
- Bilingual in English and French
- Available to work evenings and weekends
