Job Description
Role: Revenue Accountant (Remote – Southern CA / PST)
Location: Remote (Target area: Southern California, must work PST hours)
Pay Rate: $30/hour (W2)
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract (W2)
Length: Initial 6 months + chance for extension
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will support revenue recognition, billing, month-end close, and cross-functional collaboration with FP&A and other business partners. Revenue Accountant What You’ll Do
- Perform month-end close tasks related to revenue recognition
- Review variance reports and validate deferred and unbilled balances
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Process client invoices and maintain supporting documentation
- Collaborate with FP&A on revenue and forecast variances
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve billing and account reconciliation issues
- Prepare support for internal and external audit requests
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, reporting, and accounting inquiries as needed
Revenue Accountant What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or equivalent experience
- Experience with billing and revenue recognition (preferred)
- Intermediate experience in a corporate accounting environment; experience in software, construction, or retail industries is a plus
- Experience working with Oracle or other large-scale ERP systems
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
