The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for a Salesforce Analyst to join the Philanthropy & Supporter Engagement (PaSE) team at Burnet Institute.

In this role, you will play a key role in optimising fundraising and supporter engagement activities by analysing and managing data within Salesforce. Working closely with the CRM and Analytics Manager, you will provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and improve overall fundraising effectiveness across the Institute.

You will also support data integrity, reporting and analytics activities across the broader Strategic Funding, Partnership Innovation and Communication (SFPIC) team.

You will also:

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns and insights that support fundraising strategy and decision-making.
  • Create, maintain and enhance Salesforce reports and dashboards, including income tracking, portfolio performance, and event outcomes.
  • Support Salesforce campaign set-up, reporting and data extraction for communications appeals and events.
  • Perform regular data hygiene, data cleansing and ensure accuracy of data imports using Salesforce and Data Loader.
  • Provide frontline Salesforce and data support to the SFPIC team, including ownership of the internal Salesforce data support case process.

Let’s talk about you

The following criteria are essential requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Proven and strong experience with Salesforce and Data Loader, ideally within a not-for-profit or healthcare environment.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables and data visualisation.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach to supporting end-users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The following are desirable but not essential:

  • Experience supporting fundraising, philanthropy or supporter engagement teams.
  • Exposure to Salesforce integrations, dashboards and KPI development.
  • Experience developing user documentation or delivering Salesforce training.
