Automation Engineer (Infrastructure) – Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Engineer to support and enhance our infrastructure automation platforms, including Terraform Cloud, Ansible Automation Platform, and Harness. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, scalability, and usability of our automation ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and platform administration.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Administration

• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades for Terraform Cloud and Ansible Automation
• Monitor platform health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Manage user access, roles, and permissions across supported platforms.

Automation Development

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable automation modules and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate automation into infrastructure and application delivery pipelines.
• Ensure automation follows best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability.

Documentation & Enablement

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform usage, automation standards, and troubleshooting guides.
• Lead office hours and working sessions to educate and support internal users.
• Develop training materials and conduct workshops to promote platform adoption and best practices.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive efficiency.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation and DevOps.
• Contribute to the evolution of the automation strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

• Experience with Terraform Cloud and Ansible Automation Platform
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead training sessions and support users with varying levels of technical expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or related technologies.
• Experience in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
