Cloud DevSecOps Engineer IV
Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham
7-month contract
Pay Range $85.00-90.00/hr.
Our client needs a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer (Level 4) to join our delivery team on a seven-month contract. The role will help design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting a sophisticated backend platform in AWS.
The position is primarily remote, though candidates based in Charlotte (preferred), Atlanta, or Birmingham are ideal for occasional in-person collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Work closely with a high-performing delivery team to model and document build/deployment processes
- Manage automated build, package, and deployment workflows
- Diagnose and proactively resolve issues by analyzing telemetry, dashboards, and observability platforms
- Promote a culture of ownership — “if we put it in production, we own it” — including participating in on-call support rotations
- Foster strong collaboration across development, testing, and operations teams
- Assurance to enable the organization to move to the cloud using complete automation
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED and ten (10) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology
- Six (6) years of relevant DevSecOps experience
- AWS DevOps certification or Azure DevOps certification
- AWS (primary cloud provider – no Azure, no GCP)
- Terraform (infrastructure as code)
- GitHub – including GitHub Actions
- Artifactory – build and package repository
- Harness – preferred for continuous delivery, but not required
- Additional familiarity with observability and monitoring tools is a strong plus.
- Experience balancing both enterprise-scale environments (where control and governance are key) and smaller, fast-moving teams (where urgency and agility drive delivery)
Bonus Skills
- Harness
- No banking experience required — helpful only for context around regulated, slower-moving environments
