Hybrid – Los Angeles Area / Irvine, CA

  • 70% field-based across the Los Angeles area
  • 30% remote (Work From Home)
  • Candidate must be able to work any combination of field and WFH days, Monday through Friday.
  • First-shift hours; must be available to be on-site as early as 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM PST as needed.

Summary:

The Network Construction Manager – Fiber is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of fiber optic construction projects throughout the Los Angeles area. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OSP (Outside Plant) and fiber construction, experience managing vendors and field operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and lead kick-off meetings with Project Managers to review all aspects of upcoming fiber construction projects.
  • Conduct field visits including bid walks, pre-construction meetings, in-progress inspections, punch walks, and closeout reviews.
  • Manage general contractors, developers, and municipalities, ensuring adherence to construction specifications and standards.
  • Monitor and manage change requests, including submitting Change Management tickets and tracking approvals.
  • Utilize Power BI and other business intelligence tools to analyze data, monitor on-time performance (OTP), and manage CRM assignments.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) during customer and transportation meetings.
  • Ensure all work aligns with construction standards, safety protocols, and quality expectations.
  • Provide direction and oversight to contractors to ensure timely project completion within scope and budget.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project data within internal tracking systems and CRMs.
  • Review and validate As-Built drawings for quantity and accuracy verification.
  • Serve as an escalation point for issue resolution and corrective actions during or after project closeout.
  • Support safety awareness initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of telecommunications or wireless construction management experience, with a focus on OSP and fiber projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction management processes, permitting, and right-of-way (ROW) regulations in both public and private sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and permits.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with a customer service focus.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA laws and safety practices.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
