Technical Stack

Power BI: Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M language), Custom Visuals (R/Python/D3.js), Power BI REST API, Git

Data Sources: MongoDB, SQL databases, REST APIs, Excel, CSV

Design Tools: Power BI theming, custom styling, responsive design principles

We believe in a transparent and thoughtful selection process that respects your time while ensuring a mutual fit. We’re looking for developers who can seamlessly bridge the gap between complex data and insightful user experience.

1.We’ll discuss your background, experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, and career goals, while providing an overview of the role and our team culture. This is your first opportunity to ask us about our data stack!

2.You’ll receive a Medlaunch dataset and business requirements to complete within a specified timeframe. This challenge requires you to:

  • Model Data: Design an efficient data model (Star/Snowflake schema).
  • Implement Logic: Write robust DAX calculations.
  • Develop Reports: Create a functional Power BI report.

We encourage you to leverage all available resources, including AI assistance, just as you would in a production environment. This step allows you to showcase your proficiency in data pipeline integrity, query optimization, and problem-solving.

3.We’ll have an in-depth discussion about your challenge solution and explore related technical concepts. You must be prepared to walk through every aspect of your submission:

  • Data Modeling & DAX: Explain your design choices for the schema, the complexity of your DAX logic, and how you ensured query performance.
  • Report Design & UX: Justify your visualization choices, explaining how the design and complexity of the visuals were implemented to correctly communicate insights and follow data visualization best practices.
  • Production Readiness: Discuss security considerations, data refresh strategy, potential improvements, and how the report would be deployed and maintained in a production environment.

We’re looking for developers who can think critically, maintain data integrity, and create performant, user-friendly reports—not just those who can connect to a source.

Ready to apply? We look forward to hearing from you!
