Technical Sales Assistant – Roofing & Waterproofing

Location: South of the River London (SW, SM, CR, SE, BR, DA postcodes)

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 basic + OTE £100k (Yr 1)

Contract: Permanent | Full Training Provided

Benefits: 23 days holiday + bank holidays, pension (3% employee / 5% employer), optional private health (salary sacrifice)

The Opportunity:

My client are a market leader in roofing and waterproofing solutions, and build a rewarding career in technical sales. You’ll cover South London, partnering with councils, building surveyors, capital investment teams, and commercial property owners to deliver industry-leading flat roofing and waterproofing systems.

You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team, with full support and training to develop your technical expertise and sales success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Developing new business opportunities across your South London territory (approx. 90% new business)

Building strong relationships with local councils (e.g. Croydon Council), surveyors, and investment teams

Providing trusted technical advice and writing specifications for waterproof roofing systems

Conducting site surveys, condition reports, and quality audits

Representing Garland UK at sector events, networking functions, and client meetings

Managing your own diary and workload with full autonomy

Working across both public sector (social housing, councils) and private sector (large commercial buildings) projects

What We’re Looking For:

Proven sales background, ideally in area sales or technical sales within building materials

Experience with cladding or metals (preferred but not essential)

Highly driven, ambitious, and self-motivated with a “go-getter” attitude

Strong communication and relationship-building skills across varied stakeholders

Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK

What You’ll Get:
